Veinlite Enables Better Patient Care in Infusion and Clinical Trials
In this post, Naomi Walcott shares her team’s experience working with Veinlite® vein finders at Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology Center in Tulsa, OK.
At AAIC Infusions, we administer infusible and injectable medications to treat a wide range of diseases. We also have a clinical trial department, where subjects require multiple lab draws and occasionally require infusions. Our infusion clinic performs between 16-18 venous access procedures daily, and the clinical trial department performs approximately 15-20 venous lab draws daily.
Our Patients Love the Veinlite
We been using Veinlite vein access devices for a little over 4 years. Our patients are intrigued by the transillumination technology of this amazing device, but even more by the fact that they only get stuck once to have their IV started or the labs drawn. They feel that this is the best experience they’ve had, compared to many of their previous encounters with IVs or lab draws.
Veinlite Features and Benefits
My favorite features of the Veinlite are its portability and accuracy. With this device I can now access veins that I can’t feel or see. There are fewer hard sticks, and “veins that roll” are no longer a challenge for our infusion team. Many of our infusion patients require infusions as long term treatment option. It is therefore important that our IV access is on point, accurate and fast.
By using Veinlite, we can more easily put patients at ease when they come into our clinic for an infusion. I believe that it’s an important part of the healing process and overall patient satisfaction. Being able to start an IV or lab draw at the 1st attempt increases a patient’s trust in our capabilities and how we do our job. Veinlite helps us deliver better patient care when it comes to IV access and blood draws.
I wouldn’t go a day without the Veinlite!
